Wizz winning into Grade 5 at Wilmslow Premier Show

Hitting the Ground Running in 2016

Bailey with his perpetual Trophies for 2016

What a fantastic start to the New Year. We hold three perpetual trophies for the course of 2016, Wizz is now Grade 5 and and I have just secured my dream job!

Wizz won the Jay the Jester, Let Me Entertain You Award for being the dog that makes most people smile and being such a goof ball and Bailey won the Kizzi Kracker Award for the top small grade 7 dog. thank you Jacqui Tarn J Bailey also won the John Jacob Memorial Cup for the dog with the most points for EDTS, thank you Kevin Smith and all the members. So those three trophies have pride of place on the mantelpiece for 2016 when in December they will pass onto the new winners.

The results for the Small grade 6-7 Mad Spaniels League for 2015 were announced as
1st with 2167 pts Eliza Doughlittle ran by Charlotte Linton
2nd with 1254 pts Ruby Rascal (AWG) ran by me
3rd with 1018 pts Afterglow Mr President ran by me

Very well done to Charlotte and Rosie and hope we have continued success in our small Crufts teams in 2016 J

So as if that didn’t make my day I found out this month that I have been successful in my application for a new full time job as Puppy Trainer for the North East Region for Hearing Dogs for the Deaf starting late February. I have had to put my other duties on hold for a few months whilst I complete my residential training but it is such an exciting prospect that I am very much looking forward to.

Once I have completed my residential training I will of course be still training the assistance dogs for Dog A.I.D. as this is going very well and also continuing to offer behavioural assessments and modification on a 1 to 1 basis as well as running Cleverpawz Agility Club and competing with my own dogs.

I have now completed all my written work for my KCAI Accredited Instructors Qualification and just need to send it all off for moderation.

We have competed at a few shows already in January including Crooked Oak UKA show in which we had some fantastic results despite pulling out early due to a bit of a sore neck (whip lash courtesy of Wizz, must get him some brakes). The roll call of results were:-

Bailey 3rd Champ Agility. Midi

Jet 1st Champ Agility and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd  in the Champ Steeplechase classes. Toy

Bon Bon 2nd Champ Agility and 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the Champ Steeplechase classes. Toy

Barack 1st Senior Gamblers, 1st Senior Agility, 2nd in Senior Agility, 2nd and two 3rds in Senior Steeplechase classes. Toy

Nell 1st in Senior Gamblers, 2nd in Senior Jumping, one 2nd and two 3rd s in Champ Steeplechase. Maxi

Wizz 1st Beginners Jumping. Maxi

Had a great day at Wilmslow Premier Show despite leaving after lunch because the snow was threatening to close the 66 and leave us stranded. Three of my little ones getting placed in the Olympia Qualifier out of 103 dogs, Barack getting 11th, Jet 9th and Bailey 7th. Then to top the day off Wizz won into grade 5 with a cracking agility run completed on 33 seconds.

Not entering many shows over the next couple of months as I will be away on residential training for my new job, but do have Ribble Premier Show to look forward to.

See you all soon.
